OK so the Rage arrived safely to Green Turtle Cay Thursday afternoon. Thanks Randy and Bob.

Friday and that means time for the Stranded Naked Cheeseburger in Paradise Party on Fiddle Cay, just north of GTC, which “officially” starts the Regatta for this year….No sailing, just one big beach party. Reports received by this writer indicate is was “as usual”. This writer had to work that day………….

Saturday 7:30 am and the Sea Of Abaco is FLAT CALM! Remaining crew and I leave HT and have a beautiful 1 hour ride to New Plymouth. Hmmm the fleet looks a little thin this year…We rig the Rage and its still flat calm. We hoist sail in time for the scheduled 11: 20 start….and drift….and find a puff….drift…..The R/C hoists the postponement flag…we drift some more …….and about 1 hour later we are blessed with a light breeze from the North. Reset the windward marker and here we go. The Rage is registered, as usual, in the Mother Tub fleet (yellow) and we are third in the start sequence. We sail away from the line so as to give the boats in starts 1 and 2 plenty of maneuvering room and as we begin to make our way back for the Mother Tub start, the wind drops to almost nothing and we are 2 ½ minutes late for the start! Arrrrrrrgggggg! “New” skipper Richard Cook is gnashing his teeth but not to worry this is Rage wind all we need to do is find it and find it we did, overtaking all vessels in our class (about 8) and some that were not. One tack to the windward marker and as we round it a horn sounds, the R/C has shortened the course because of the light to no wind conditions. We win our class! Third time in a row! We own the GTC race! The party and awards that evening are held over at the Bluff House in White Sound and I forgot to take my camera….

Sunday and Nomad/Randy/Bob tow Rage over to Treasure Cay for the 2nd race Monday, Treasure Cay to Great Guana.

 GTC crew L – R

Eric, Stafford, Bob, Rich, Laura (Albury Jr sailor 06-7) Lenny Russell, Cody, Noelle.
