Two Days Of Racing…Sort Of

The Hope Town Cup is a two day regatta put on by the Hope Town Sailing Club. Day one was a fine day for racing and the Rage had several newbies on board (you know who you are, so please send me your experiences! editor). Out of 11 boats on the triangular course, the Abaco Rage, with Rich Cook as skipper,  placed 5th on corrected time. Day two was a whole different story, with winds nearing 20 mph. Rich and his trusty crew were all set to race and headed to the start line. Conditions were getting too rough, and the right and prudent decision was made to drop out of the race for the safety of the crew and the boat itself. Several other boats retired from the race early, some with gear failures. In the end, even without racing the last race, the Rage placed 5th over all which is very commendable!
