The Dove wins the Final George Town Race!

Neil tells us about the exciting B Class final race:

1:05 pm The Dove is off to a picture perfect start and take the lead at the gun!

Today is overcast with about 15 knots of steady breeze.

Checking the standings this morning The Dove is in second with 17 points with Lady Sonia in the lead with 20.

The Dove comes around the first mark 20 seconds in front of Lady Sonia and rounds the mark perfectly into the first downwind leg.

Approaching the 2nd mark The Dove is 5 boat lengths ahead.

Tight around the second mark, into the upwind leg, The Dove opens their lead to 15 boat lengths around the third mark.

The Dove comes around the third mark 40 seconds in front of Lady Sonia.  Meanwhile Lady Sonia is in a dog fight with Eudeva for second and third position, with Queen Pracilla tightening up the fourth spot.  With a 3 point lead going in to today’s race, Lady Sonia has to fall back to fourth for The Dove to take the regatta!

Down the last downwind leg, it’s The Dove well out in front, with Lady Sonia and Eudeva fighting it out for second.  At the finish, it’s The Dove in first, Lady Sonia in second, and Eudeva crossing the line in third.

The crew has a great reason to celebrate!
